The cottage was immaculately clean and had all the necessary amenities. Its location was excellent, allowing us to easily explore Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, and Chatsworth House. The owner provided helpful information prior to our stay.

The only downside of this property was its location on a busy main road. Although Church Street itself was quiet, the main road was quite noisy.

The nearby Gate pub served fantastic food, and the comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep. The heating in the cottage was brilliant and kept us nice and cozy. We're already planning our next visit!

While our stay was perfect, it would have been nice to have a few more dinner plates to minimize the washing up. Additionally, the early morning traffic sounds from the front of the cottage were a bit bothersome.

The central dining room with the cozy armchairs was my favorite spot, but having the option of two log burners in different rooms was a nice touch. The village itself is great for walks, and there are two pubs within walking distance. I had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again.

The only minor downside was the potential for some noise at night due to the proximity to the main road, but earplugs easily solved this issue. Also, parking on the street near the property might require a bit of searching, but we managed to find a spot within 100 yards.
